Upon entering the scene of any fire, the situation must be assessed. Our main concern.....SAFETY!! |
Contrary to what it looks like, the water is being sprayed on the tank that remains intact to keep it cool while foam gets prepared. |
"behind the scenes" Foam needs to be prepared, trucks need to keep full, extra support has to be called in. There's much more to firefighting than just spraying water. |
Even after putting on hundreds of gallons of water and foam, the wind comes up and changes our approach. |
The foam has no effect as it runs over the edge. The tank has to be drained in order to let the foam smother the fire. |
Once the level of the tank gets lowered, the foam is able to stay in the tank and extinguish the fire. |

It takes alot of people, experience, and leadership to contain any fire. We have among the best! |
