 Recently,
the Tioga Medical Center Board of Directors approved the go-ahead
into pursuing the construction of eight new apartments. The
original fourteen apartments opened up in 1999 and since have been
running at or near 100% occupancy. The waiting list of people to
get into the apartments is approximately 25 with no signs of
demand diminishing.The Board of Directors has been in contact
with an architect who did the original design of the apartments.
The architect feels that the best place to build will be on the
north side of the existing facility and extending eastward. The
apartments will all have a south view so tenants can view the
town. The apartments will be approximately 600 square feet and
will be much like the current apartments; including a kitchenette,
dining/living room, bathroom and one bedroom. There is no plan for
garages at this present time but will be addressed at a later
date.
Tioga Medical Center is appreciative of the communities past
support and is hoping for the communities continued support in
this exciting adventure!
