About Teri
A Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Master Addiction Counselor, Teri is dedicated to supporting individuals of all ages and families as they navigate mental health and substance use challenges. Her approach is compassionate, client-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices that promote healing, resilience, and long-term wellness.
Teri earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of North Dakota with a focus in Community Mental Health Counseling, graduating with honors. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Addiction Studies from Minot State University.
Her clinical experience includes working with adolescents and adults in outpatient, inpatient, and community behavioral health settings, most recently with the North Central Behavioral Center. While there, she provided individual psychotherapy, developed treatment plans, and participated in multidisciplinary teams for treatment court programs for both youth and adults. She has also worked in chemical dependency and addiction service settings, facilitating group therapy and conducting substance use evaluations
Teri's professional interests include trauma recovery, substance use treatment and harm reduction, multicultural competency in counseling, and improving access to behavioral health services in rural communities. Outside of her clinical work, she has volunteered for many years as a mentor for BIO Girls, supporting young girls in building confidence and resilience through physical activity and community connection. She enjoys time at the lake with family and friends.
Teri is an active member of the American Counseling Association and the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals and remains committed to ongoing education and advocacy to better serve communities across North Dakota.
